The Public Administration Focus Day kicked off pmwelt 2026 and looked to the future: moving away from mere administration and towards active shaping of the future.

The event kicked off with a keynote speech by Christoph Eichhorn entitled “No more trips to the council offices! A digital model nation: How German citizens and businesses can benefit from Estonia”. The former German ambassador to Estonia, a digital model nation, demonstrated how consistent digitalisation reduces bureaucracy, improves services and empowers public authorities – and what German public authorities can specifically learn from Estonia. The focus day combined inspiration with practical insights. 

In his keynote speech on day 2, Prof. Dr Fabian Hänle spoke about China’s SME miracle. His book *Economic Awakening* is our takeaway for you.
