Countdown to the 2023 cattle drive
For the past 25 years, whenever the first keg is tapped at Munich’s Oktoberfest, the “Almauftrieb” event organised by Edition Sportiva has taken place the following evening. With 998 celebrities from the worlds of sport, media, politics and high society now on the guest list, this invite-only event is one of the most sought-after in the whole of Bavaria. neoist has been commissioned for the 2023 anniversary edition to announce the countdown to the big Wiesn party at the famous Käfer Wiesn-Schänke on Instagram – in collaboration with Annette Zierer Communications. An honourable task. The mini-campaign, comprising 8 posts, focuses on the traditions of Oktoberfest and the unique standing of the well-known hosts – the Käfer family and Evelyn and Philip Greffenius of Edition Sportiva – featuring a clip from Bunte magazine, the latest traditional costume fashion by Kinga Mathe, and photos of celebrity guests from previous years – including Victoria Swarovski, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ralf Möller and Michael Ballack – accompanied by entertaining captions that incorporate charming Bavarian dialect… because that’s just as much a part of Oktoberfest as the beer steins, the Ferris wheel and the gingerbread hearts. To mark the launch of the “Edition Almauftrieb 2023” Pinot Gris, which was specially produced to celebrate the anniversary, and the collaboration with traditional costume label Kinga Mathe, Birgit Unger from neoist photographed two scenes for Edition Sportiva outside Feinkost Käfer on Prinzregentenstraße in Munich.
The posts appeared on Instagram at @almauftrieb every other day in the run-up to the event. The campaign kicked off with an Instagram Reel (viewable via this link), which started the countdown.
The countdown to the most sought-after Oktoberfest event of 2023 has begun
In 14 days’ time, 998 VIPs from the worlds of showbiz, sport and business are once again expected to attend the traditional Oktoberfest kick-off at the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke at Munich’s Oktoberfest. The highly exclusive “Almauftrieb” on 17 September from 8 pm kicks off with white wine served in small glasses for the ladies and, of course, freshly tapped draught beer in traditional beer mugs for the lads. Here’s to the first toast to good cheer! We’ll be sharing what else is in store for you this year here over the next few days.

Käfer’s gourmet kitchen is once again preparing the delicious treats that will be served to guests at the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke during the cattle drive. Let us surprise you with our snack platters and the tasty accompaniments to the crispy duck. Afterwards, we’ll serve sweet Kaiserschmarrn. To toast the occasion, we’ll of course be serving our fine Paulaner beer and a spicy, dry Pinot Gris cuvée, which has been specially pressed for this evening as a limited edition of 1,111 numbered Schlegel magnum bottles. When Munich’s number one party band, Gerry & Gary, take to the stage to play hits like ‘Hulapalu’ and ‘Hey Baby’ and the guests are up on the benches dancing along, it’s fine to stay out a bit later… things are in full swing at the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke until half past midnight.

Our Almauftrieb, one of the hottest VIP parties at the Munich Oktoberfest, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Hearty Bavarian culinary delights are served with a huge ‚Maß’ of beer or a glass of fabulous ‚Edition Almauftrieb’ wine – limited to only 1,111 magnum bottles. Celebrities show off the latest in traditional costumes and dirndls from top designers such as Kinga Mathe. Munich’s No 1 party band plays Germany´s biggest hits live on stage while, on and off the stage, all guests toast to a united Prosit!

Just 2 days to go until the 2023 cattle drive
Once again, we’ve put together a few #throwbacks from recent years for you. Ever since Evelyn and Philip Greffenius from Edition Sportiva came up with the idea for the legendary Almauftrieb party series 25 years ago, so many wonderful things have happened at the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke. Well-known couples met and new friendships were formed … surely every one of our guests has taken home a very special memory of the Almauftrieb. We look forward to seeing ‘the same old faces’ and all the new ones joining us to celebrate… because it’s not just the Almauftrieb that’s celebrating an anniversary this year. Our venue partner, Feinkost Käfer – renowned for first-class cuisine in a traditional setting – is organising the brand’s presence at the Oktoberfest for the 50th time this year.
The tap’s been opened!
We can’t wait! Oktoberfest kicked off today in glorious weather, and tomorrow evening sees the anniversary Alpine cattle drive – which becomes the heart of the Wiesn when the smart young men and women arrive in their finest traditional costumes to celebrate and dance at Käfer’s Wiesn-Schänke.
